OUR JOURNEY

Breathing New Life into a Historic Structure

The Old County Annex Barn sat waiting for a new purpose.  This year work began on the barn to turn it into a Vendor’s Market.  Inside the spacious barn are 23 booths.  As of now, seven have been filled and the remaining spaces are waiting for just the right person to step in and create a retail booth.  The owners, Bart and Debbie Burkhard, wanted to create an environment for small business owners could come in and set up a small retail business with little up-front cost. An on-site cashier allows business owners the opportunity to start growing their business while still being able to keep their day job.

Commercial rent is high in Blanco County and the surrounding area, so this is the perfect place to start your own small business.  Johnson City has seen a tremendous increase in visitors and shoppers, so this opportunity is great for those who have unique items that they want to sell.

For shoppers, the Old Annex Market will provide a one-stop shopping experience. Located close to the square in Johnson City, it is within walking distance to restaurants.  The Old Annex Market is now open Thursday thru Sunday, 10am – 6pm.  During the holidays the Market will be open until 9pm on Friday and Saturday.  There is clothing for men, women, and children.  Lots of cute caps, trendy jewelry, shoes and winter outer wear.  Beautiful handmade items from local craft people and artwork.  Something for everyone on your shopping list.
